Thank you for contacting the Oregon Department of Education IT Helpdesk. For questions on how to file a complaint with your school district please take into considerations the following questions:

1. Have you asked your school district for its complaint process? (some districts will have this in their Student/Parent Handbook or posted on their website.)

2.Have you filed a written complaint with the School Principal?

3. Have you filed a written complaint with your District Superintendent?

4. Have you filed a written complaint with your local School Board?

5. Does your complaint involve Special Education or a child with a disability? If so, please contact Jeremy Wells at: 503.947.5782.

You must first exhaust your local complaint process. If you have completed this process,

1. Has the district  made a final decision?

If YES - the complaint now becomes an "appeal"

If NO - local complaint process must be final before sending your appeal to ODE.

2. Does the complaint/appeal violate a rule or law?

If No - ODE does not have jurisdiction of the matter.

If YES  or you don't know contact:
