DirectAccess is a service that allows remote users to securely access internal network file shares, websites, and applications.

Before you use DirectAccess, there are a couple of things you need to do:

1.) Make sure that you are authorized to work remotely. Contact your manager if you have questions about working remotely.

2.) Log into your device (laptop, tablet, etc.) on the ODE Network BEFORE your try to use DirectAccess from a remote location.

Once you've completed the steps above, you can use DirectAccess.

    1.) Log into your device.

2.) Connect to WiFi. (You can see your WiFi options by clicking the icon in the bottom right-hand corner of your screen.)

3.) Once you are connected to your WiFi, click the "ODE DirectAccess" connection. (This should be located at the top of your WiFi connection menu.)

4.) You will see the following screen:

5.) Once the status becomes "Connected", you will have access to your shared drives.

NOTE: If you are connected but cannot access to your drives, sign out of your profile, sign back in and repeat the above steps. DO NOT reset your machine as that will not fix this issue.

OTHER NOTES:

- When you connect to DirectAccess for the first time on a new WiFi connection, it may take up to 15 minutes to connect.

- Some drives may show up with a red "x" through them when you are connected but they should still be accessible.

If you encounter any other issues with DirectAccess that are not addressed here, please contact the ODE Help Desk.
